Welcome to the Entrust 指导 Community 在NOBTS.  We are so glad you are interested in joining us to provide important mentoring relationships to our students. Below please find more information about our program, the responsibilities of mentors and mentor and site applications.

We have been praying for God to burden the hearts of His ministers to create relationships with those preparing for ministry.  Please join us in praying for the students that will come alongside you to gain practical ministry experience.

1. The mentor must have significant experience (i.e., minimum of five years in field of study).  He or she must have obtained a minimum of the Masters degree in the field of study in which the student will be mentored. The degree must be from an accredited school.  On occasion, the school will make exceptions concerning the degree and/or experience. The mentor must serve as a mentor for the designated semester(s) while the student completes the requirements for the course. The mentor serves in this capacity as a volunteer.

2. The mentor must conform to all pertinent established standards and policies of NOBTS as specified in the current 研究生目录 and MDIV 指导 track degree policies.

3. The mentor must complete the mentor training program provided by the Seminary.

4. The mentor must agree to specific time commitments, including a minimum of 1 hour per week for dialogue, 讨论, 和反射, 以及, additional time for interaction (prayer, 取向, 指令, 评价, 指导, 等.). This meeting should happen in person. **Note: The mentor is not responsible for the “teaching” of the course.

To become an approved mentor for NOBTS, each mentor is required to complete mentor training which consists of short videos that describe mentor responsibilities and qualities, why mentoring is important, what a weekly meeting with the mentee should look like each week and the documents that are required for accreditation and must be filled out by the mentor and mentee each semester that a student takes a mentoring course. Below you will find documents that students must ask their mentors to complete and submit to the 指导办公室 在NOBTS each semester that they take a mentoring course . Students must submit a 导师培训 Verification Form and 导师协议表格 to the 指导办公室, each semester that they take a mentoring course. These forms are required for accreditation and students can not pass a mentoring course if they fail to submit these documents. Students are asked to give the 导师培训 Verification Form and 导师协议表格 to their mentor, preferably at their first mentoring meeting, the first week of class. If students are taking more than one mentoring class, the student only has to submit one set of documents, if the student is using the same mentor for each of his or her mentoring classes. If a student is using separate mentors for more than one mentoring class, each mentor needs to fill out mentoring documents for the student that is being mentored. Mentors who are mentoring more than one student, need to fill out documents for each of the students that they are mentoring. Students are responsible for submitting these documents as a PDF through email to the 指导办公室 at the beginning of each semester and will receive an email from the 指导办公室 with 指令s for submission.
